Your competition has set the bar low, very low. It doesn’t take much to stand out from other speakers.
Here are three things you can do to stand out from other speakers.
Number One: Write your own introduction.
It’s not your bio! Nobody cares where you went to school, how many kids you have, and the fact that you like to collect seashells that has nothing to do with your presentation.
Stand out from others by writing your own introduction. It should include: Why this subject, Why this speaker, Why now?
Number Two: Use slides, but don’t use bullet points.
Use Images. People think in terms of images. Use Images. You provide the text with your voice.
Number Three: Take questions before your closing.
One of the laws of presentation is the audience will best to remember the first and last things you say and do. That’s why you want a strong opening and a stronger closing. Take questions before your closing and then close strongly!
Do these things and I guarantee your next presentation will be absolutely, positively – NO SWEAT!
