O What You Do!
Transcription
Fred Miller, NO SWEAT Public Speaking!
Here’s the second floor of my eight floor Elevator Speech.
What do you do?
Here’s mine:
I’m a Speaker, Coach, and an Author.
Three very simple words: easy to understand.
However, they do beg the questions:
“What do I speak about?”
“What do I coach about?”
“What do I write about?”
Good! They’ll listen to the rest of the Elevator Speech!
What do you do?
Limit it to three.
I know some of you do a lot of things. Here’s how to pick those three.
• What makes you money?
• What do you love to do?
• Third item – your choice!
Second floor of the Elevator Speech: What do you do?
Come back for the rest of those floors.
And when you get your Elevator Speech done, it will be absolutely, positively – NO SWEAT!

I would suggest that the elevator speech must relate to what I (your audience) care about or can benefit from in terms of what you do. So maybe number three should relate to that OR tie them together. I speak, coach and write to help others learn to improve their communication skills…
Thanks for that comment, Tripp!
Hi Fred. As I said earlier (you probably don’t remember)I have no problems whatsoever in communicating with people, even total strangers. But, I have thoroughly enjoyed my ride with so far. I think I’ll stick around till the end of your ride. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen to me. Elevator phobia?
Hello, Xerxes!
The elevator has passed all safety inspection and there are only eight floors to the top.
We’ll go up with no bumps, at a steady speed. Stick around!
Thanks!
Fred
