0NOT: “Work With” or “Help!”
Fred Miller, NO SWEAT Public Speaking!
This is the fourth floor of my eight floor Elevator Speech.
This is the floor where people usually say,
“I help companies.
“I work with people”
I think we need something a little more aggressive. I love the phrase, “HIRE ME.”
I’m going to give you my statement from the fourth floor. Then we’ll discuss it.
“Businesses, Individuals, and Organizations Hire Me because they want to improve their networking, public speaking, and presentation skills.”
Hire Me says:
“I’m good at what I do.
I’m proud of it.
And, you know what, there’s some money attached to it!”
That’s a good thing!
If you’re doing a one-on-one, it may disqualify people.
“Oh! I thought you were going to work with me for free! You said, ‘Hire Me!?’
That’s okay! Everyone is not a prospect. And you want to take those people. and put them aside. Talk to somebody who might be a prospect.
Hire Me is great phrase.
Now, some people are a little bit uncomfortable with that. Don’t use something if you’re uncomfortable with.
How about this:
“People become my patients.
Companies become our clients.
Individuals become customers of ours.
Whatever you’re comfortable with, but think about getting rid of: “Work With and Help.”
Now here’s another important word from that statement: BECA– — USE.
“Individuals, businesses, and organizations Hire Me BECA– — USE!
BECA– — USE is an influencer word. Robert Cialdini, in his great book, ‘Influence,’ pointed that out.
If you think about it, when you were young you’d say, “Well, mom, why do I have to. . . “
“Because I said so!”
” But. . .”
” Because it’s the right thing to do.”
Put these elements in your Elevator Speech. and I guarantee – Your Elevator Speech will be absolutely, positively – NO SWEAT!
