Speaking Opportunity!
“Speaking Opportunities are Business, Career,
and Leadership Opportunities!”
Fred E. Miller
Make the Most of It!
Include the following in your
sales presentation.
Have someone INTRODUCE you.
- Your Introduction tells people why you are giving the sales presentation.
- It is your responsibility to write the Introduction.
A great Introduction gives you credibility.
People are investing time, sometimes money, and opportunity cost. (They could be doing something else.)
WHY are YOU giving this sales presentation?
Your Introduction should answer three questions.
1. WHY this subject?
2. WHY this speaker?
3. WHY now?
- It is your responsibility to write the Introduction.
Your OPENING should grab the audience’s attention.
Consider: “We will do more to avoid pain than seek pleasure.”
Examples:
Alarm Company:
“You are awakened at 2:00 AM to the sound of glass being broken and think it’s your front door!”
Presentation Coach:
“You arrive at an event and are asked to replace a scheduled speaker who can’t attend.”
The BODY of your Presentation should have stories to reinforce each point.
Examples:
Alarm Company:
“Immediately after the glass is broken a shrill alarm starts sounding.”
Presentation Coach:
“You reach into your pocket and pull out a thumb drive with a prepared presentation.”
Q&A.
“Prime the Pump” for Q&A:
Say, “I’m going to ask the first question.
One of the questions I’m always asked is . . . ”
Your Presentation should have a STRONG CLOSING.
The Closing comes after the Q&A.
The last thing you say and do is the first thing your audience will remember.
Examples:
Alarm Company:
“Protect your family and home for less than $1.00 per day!”
Presentation Coach:
“Because “Speaking Opportunities are Business, Career, and Leadership Opportunities!”
always have a presentation ready and let event planners know it!”
Use this outline for your next Sales Presentation and I guarantee it will be absolutely, positively –
